All applicants are encouraged to make a booking to tour our school during the months of April, August, October and November. We consider each application carefully and will conduct observations of the students during play activities. The main intake for the following academic year is during September to mid-November of every year; however, we have rolling admissions throughout the year as long as we have vacancy. Please contact our office regarding availability.

Can I transfer from the Japanese section to the International section or vice versa?

Yes. Please contact the office and we will assist you in the transfer process.

Do the nursery students get priority going into K1?

Yes. Our nursery students do not need to re-apply for kindergarten. During November of each year, our nursery students will be asked if they will continue at our school and asked to pay a deposit to reserve their space in K1.

When should I apply to your school for my child?

Our application for new students is during September to November of each year but we will continue to accept applications if there is still vacancy in the class level.

For immediate entrance, applications are accepted if there is a vacancy in the class.

What is the school fee?

Nursery AM /PM is $6490 per month for a total of 11 months.

K1-K3 AM International (9:00 AM to 12:00 noon/2:00 PM) is $6600 per month for a total of 11 months.

K1PM International is $4000 per month for a total of 11 months.

K1PM & K2 PM Cantonese is $2500 per month for a total of 11 months.

What are the school hours?

Nursery AM is from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Nursery PM is from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

K1 to K3 is from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon/2:00 PM/4:00 PM and K1PM is from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

What are your office hours?

Our office hours are weekdays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

What language is used inside the classroom?

Our nursery program is in full English. Starting in K1 to K3, spoken Mandarin lessons are mandatory (20-30 minutes daily depending on class level) and Cantonese is optional. K1 Cantonese lessons are from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. K2 Cantonese lessons are from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM/4:00 PM. K3 Cantonese lessons are from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Are there any other fees besides school fee?

Besides the school fee, there is a material fee, uniform fee, and bus fee (optional).

The material fee is given once per term. There is a total of 2 terms per year. The material ranges from ~$2000 to ~$4000, depending on the class level.

The uniform fee is ~$1000 but varies depending the amount of uniform that parents will buy.

Do you provide school bus service?

We have bus service that goes to different parts of the Hong Kong Island and parts of Kowloon. Please refer to the list of bus stops.

All bus stops listed are provided during the morning bus and the 2:00 PM bus. Bus stops are limited for the 12:00 noon bus and 4:00 PM as there is only one bus that serves the nursery classes & K1PM class.

What is the teacher-student ratio at your school?

In nursery, our teacher to student ratio is 1:7. In K1-K3, our teacher to student ratio is 1:11.

What is the class size at your school?

Our nursery class ranges from 20-22 students per class. For K1-K3 classes, the class size is determined by the classroom size. Our largest classroom holds 26 students and smallest classroom holds 18 students.

How does the school keep in contact with the parents?

We believe that home-school cooperation is essential in helping the children to achieve their maximum potential. We have communication books that allow parents to write to teachers voicing their concerns. Parents are also welcome to call after school hours to speak to the teachers directly. There are parent visits and parent-teacher conferences twice a year for parents to observe their child in class and speak to the teacher regarding any questions or concerns they have on their child’s development.

How are parents involved in their child’s school life?

Throughout the school year, we have different school functions that ask for the parents’ attendance, such as the Christmas show, parent visits, parent volunteer parties/outings, parent-teacher conferences, etc.

Do you offer parent-child classes?

We have a playclass program that is for children of 14-24 months. Your child can start applying when he/she reaches 10 months. The class begins when your child reaches 14 months. The playclass is held either once a week (Saturday mornings), twice a week (weekday afternoons), or three times a week (weekday afternoons).

Do you offer holiday camps?

We have holiday camps during the Christmas holiday, Chinese New Year holiday, Easter holiday, & the summer time. Summer camp applications are available starting in April of each year. All other holidays camps are available starting 2 months before the holiday.

Can I join both am & pm sessions including the extended hours?

What curriculum do you use?

We base our curriculum from the Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies originating from USA. However, we also add elements to adapt to the Hong Kong context. Our phonics program is Letterland from the UK.

How does the school communicate with the parents?

There are many different channels for parents to communicate with the school.  The school sends out weekly notices every Friday informing parents of announcements concerning their child and the school.  Parents are also free to contact their child’s teachers by email or over the phone through the School Office.  Various meeting sessions are also arranged during the course of the year such as Principal’s Coffee Mornings and parent-teacher conferences.   Please refer to the latest version of the Parent Handbook which will be distributed at the beginning of the school year.
